That year, many serious occurrences took place in Xuanjing. On top of that, there were several trivial ones:
The head of the Operations Department in the Military Intelligence Bureau, Director Shi Qiu, divorced his deputy out of the blue, after spending half a year married to him. Soon after that, said deputy lost his life in combat.
Within that very month, the young master of the Zhao family returned home after two years of disappearance.

Three years later, the Military Intelligence Bureau deployed Shi Qiu to the west continents to undertake a highly confidential task. They also employed certain mercenaries to help him, and the task ended up in the hands of Young Master Zhao and company.
Based on records, the young master of the Zhao family was the same age and height as Director Shi's ex-husband and deputy. Moreover, they happened to both be snipers.

In response to the speculations that arose:
Director Shi claimed the following: "It is a mere coincidence. The two of them are separate entities. I wish for everyone to respect my deceased husband, and thus put a stop to such baseless conjectures."

At the time, the emperor, Xuan Yin, ascended the throne, thereafter declaring the Decree of the New Dynasty; thereby heralding the start of an intense age of industrialization.
One hundred and thirty years later, the emperor's authority fell. The new and old factions begun vying even more intensely with one another. Flames of war ravaged the west continents, and the entire world was a scene of chaos.
It was an evening at the start of spring. The engraved mahogany door was pushed open. Entering his sight was the person who had been permeating his thoughts all day and all night.
